COURSES

The Mumbai campus allows students a range of academic pursuits from the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Students have plenty of opportunities in the research academia as well as core industrial sectors.

UG Program

The UG program is offered to students who have qualified 10+2 level (intermediate) regardless of board affiliation or stream. The students’ programs are a bachelor’s degree in fashion design, fashion communication, accessory design, apparel production, knitwear design, and textile design.

PG Program

The PG program offers a master’s degree in Design (M. Des.) and fashion management (MFM).

IDM

Inter-Disciplinary Minors are offered to the students at the UG and PG levels. Through a choice of three IDMs, our new curriculum can hone more than one skill in the students. IDM to each degree course is customized to incorporate a multidisciplinary approach.

Admissions

NIFT Mumbai admissions are secured through an entrance test.

Scores in the NIFT Mumbai Entrance exam determine seat availability and course selection at the UG and PG levels.

Candidates who wish to give the entrance test must be qualified at the 10+2 level and must not have attained more than 23 years of age.

Fee Structure

The NIFT Mumbai fees are structured to suit candidates both NRI as well as Non NRI candidates.

The NIFT Mumbai fee structure incorporates reasonable one-time payment annually for both the semesters for a two-year course.

Scholarship

Scholarships are provided to students belonging to weak economic backgrounds. The “SARTHAK” scheme is financial assistance provided to students based on three slabs of parental income. Based on the parental income, students may receive financial assistance between 50% to 100%of the tuition fees at the UG level; and 25% to 75 % at the PG level. Apart from this, many industry apparel houses come forward with personalized scholarship programs for deserving students.

The university also provides means-cum-merit scheme called “UDAAN” for students desiring to pursue foreign studies but are belonging to economically weaker sections. The scheme’s benefits are extended to the students to avail the scope of further studies with partner institutions collaborating with NIFT. The sponsorship includes a subsistence allowance based on the category of location and ranging from 3000 $ US per semester to 5000$ US per semester.

Campus Infrastructure

Spread over 10 acres, university has a sprawling campus in the area of Navi Mumbai. The campus is always lively, with some or the other initiatives undertaken by our students. State of the art hostel and mess facilities along with world-class infrastructure and highly equipped labs and machine rooms are major attractions for the students.
