The University fosters a range of academic pursuits for the students at various levels, be it UG, PG or PhD Students have plenty of opportunities in the research academia as well as core industrial sectors. The University is a prime example of growth and development as it offered only two courses in the inception. A course each in bachelor’s and master’s degree was offered to students who have now grown into 7 UG courses, 1 PG course and 11 CEP courses.

UG Program

The UG program is offered to students who have qualified 10+2 level (intermediate) regardless of board affiliation or stream. The students’ programs are a bachelor’s degree in fashion design, fashion communication, accessory design, apparel production, leather design, knitwear design, and textile design.

PG Program

The PG program offers a master’s degree in fashion management (MFM) to candidates who qualify GAT and the personal interview round as well.


NIFT Kolkata admission 2020 for the Continuous Education Program is offered to working professionals and students alike. The program caters especially to those who, for some reason, could not enrol in the regular programs. A CEP course can range from 3 months to a year and provides valuable exposure to as a certified/diploma course to people from other institutional or work profiles but who seek to find a suitable opportunity in the fashion sector.

NIFT admissions are based on performance in entrance tests -CAT and GAT. Scores in the NIFT entrance exam and other ancillary factors such as performance in the Personal Interview rounds (for PG Courses) are vital criteria. Fee Structure

NIFT Kolkata fees, unlike other universities, are extremely reasonable and are determined after factoring in income capabilities and other such criteria. Students from Low-Income Groups are often provided financial assistance and scholarships by the University.
