NIFT India: Excellence in Fashion (Career in Fashion)
Indeed, the lives of fashion designers aren’t as glitzy as it appears on TV. They don’t romp in fabric all through the day. So why do designers like their work? What sustains them daily despite the intense pressure and great competition? The answer is seeing the completed garment. Witnessing it on a rack of a clothing store or a magazine or holding it is a precious feeling. It’s a great reward for the hours of hard work. Working with Adobe Illustrator, MS Excel, and other industry software, and monitoring and following up the complete development process. The feeling of witnessing the tangible physical garment that started with a digital sketch is unique. No wonder so many youngsters want to be fashion designers.
