Step-by-Step Application Process
Step 1: Registration for Online Application
1. Create an Account:
- Go to the NIFTEE portal (exams.nta.nic.in/niftee).
- Click New Registration.
- Enter personal details (name, DOB, email, mobile).
- Create a password and choose a Security Question with its answer.
2. Note down your Application Number:
- After successful registration, a unique Application Number will be generated.
- This Application Number is required for all subsequent logins and future correspondence — keep it safe.
3. Login Details:
- Use the Application Number and Password created during registration for all future logins.
Step 2: Complete the Application Form
1. Login to Your Account:
- Use your Application Number and Password to log in and fill out the application form.
2. Fill in the Application Details:

- Personal Information (name, date of birth, contact details)
- Educational Qualifications (previous qualifications and marks)

Step 3: Payment of Application Fee
1. Select Payment Method:
After completing the application form, pay the application fee via:
- Net Banking
- Debit/Credit Card
- UPI
2. Complete the Payment:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete payment.
- Once payment is successful, a Confirmation Page will be generated.
3. Confirmation Page:
- Print or save the Confirmation Page for records.
- If the confirmation page is not generated after payment, the transaction will be cancelled. Contact the bank for a refund and complete the payment again.

NIFT Entrance Exam Admit Card 2027
- Admit Cards must be downloaded from the NTA website.
- The Admit Card is issued provisionally, subject to the candidate meeting eligibility criteria.
- Admit Cards will not be sent by post.
- If unable to download, candidates can contact the Help Line between 09:30 AM – 5:30 PM or write to [email protected].
- For discrepancies in the admit card (photo, signature, etc.), report to the Helpline immediately.
- Candidates must download the Admit Card and appear at the specified test centre on the date and time mentioned on it.
- No duplicate Admit Cards will be issued at the exam centre.
- Preserve the Admit Card in good condition — it will be required at subsequent stages of the selection process.
- Candidates with incomplete applications or incorrect details will not receive Admit Cards.
- Entry to the Examination Centre is permitted only to candidates carrying a valid Admit Card along with a valid Government of India–issued photo ID.
NIFT Entrance Exam Result 2027
NIFT 2027 entrance exam results are expected to be announced in March or April 2027 on the NTA website. Results serve as the first step in the selection process for B.Des, M.Des, MFM, and M.F.Tech programmes.
For B.Des candidates, scores from the General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT) are used to shortlist candidates for the Situation Test. For B.F.Tech candidates, the GAT score is the sole criterion for selection.
PG programme candidates (M.Des, MFM, and M.F.Tech) are required to attend a Personal Interview. Absence from the interview will result in the final selection being withheld.
The final result, combining written exam scores with Situation Test or Personal Interview performance, is declared in May 2027.
How to Check NIFT 2027 Entrance Exam Results
- Visit the NTA result portal at exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT.
- Click on the result link to open the result login window.
- Enter your application number, date of birth, and the security code displayed.
- Once logged in, download your scorecard.
Written exam results are used to shortlist candidates for further rounds. Final selection is based on combined performance across all applicable stages.

NIFT Counselling and Seat Allocation 2027
Online Registration: Qualified candidates must register on the NIFT counselling portal to participate in the seat allocation process.
Choice Filling: Fill and lock course and campus preferences in order of priority before the stated deadline.
Document Verification: Candidates must produce photocopies of the qualifying examination marksheet, proof of date of birth (secondary school marksheet or certificate), and a valid category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/Open-EWS), along with any other documents specified by NIFT.
Seat Allotment: Seats are allocated based on merit rank, stated preferences, and availability across courses and campuses.
Fee Payment: Payment of the seat acceptance fee is mandatory to confirm the allotted seat. Failure to pay within the stipulated window will result in the seat being forfeited.

Situation Test (B.Des Only)
- Objective: Assesses material handling and innovative ability in a hands-on environment.

- Space visualisation, creativity, colour scheme, and model construction.
- A written explanation of the concept in English is required.
Personal Interview (PI)
- Objective: Evaluates career orientation, aptitude for the chosen programme, academic background, creativity, and communication skills.
