Best NIFT Coaching in Delhi 2027-2028 For NIFT Entrance Exam
NIFT Coaching in Delhi 2027 – 2028 at BRDS
Preparing for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) entrance takes more than practising fashion sketches. Aspirants need creative thinking, visualisation, observation, design awareness, quantitative and logical reasoning, and the ability to communicate ideas within a fixed time. BRDS offers NIFT Coaching in Delhi through classroom learning, guided practice, creative assignments, mock tests and one-to-one feedback.
With centres across Delhi NCR — Malviya Nagar, South Extension, Preet Vihar, Pitampura, Dwarka, Karol Bagh, Janakpuri, GTB Nagar, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Sonipat — students can choose the classroom closest to home or school. Our Malviya Nagar centre, for example, is at D-74, Malviya Nagar Market, Opposite Punjab National Bank, Near Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Guru Govind Singh Marg, New Delhi 110017.
NIFT admissions are conducted through the NIFT Entrance Examination (NIFTEE). For B.Des., the 2026 examination had two stages: the General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT), followed by the NIFT Situation Test for shortlisted candidates. Our Delhi programme covers every stage, including aptitude practice, sketching, creative ideation, visual communication, time-bound exercises and hands-on Situation Test preparation.
Delhi is also home to NIFT New Delhi, the largest NIFT campus, in Hauz Khas. And few cities give a fashion aspirant as much to observe: Mughal and Sultanate monuments, Dilli Haat’s craft stalls, the National Crafts Museum, the textile lanes of Chandni Chowk and the shopping streets of Lajpat Nagar and Connaught Place.

Delhi’s Creative Ecosystem for NIFT Preparation
Delhi works as an extended observation studio for a NIFT aspirant. Design awareness grows not only through classroom exercises but through regular observation of how people interact with clothing, products, spaces, signs, materials and public environments.
Heritage precincts, craft centres, gardens, museums, wholesale markets and modern retail streets — all connected by the metro — give students a different context for visual research on every outing.
| Delhi Observation Environment | Design Observation Focus | Why It Works for Delhi Students |
|---|---|---|
| Dilli Haat, INA | Indian crafts, textiles, surface patterns, product presentation, materials, colour and cultural references. | A permanent crafts and handloom marketplace with rotating stalls from across India; INA metro is on the Yellow and Pink lines |
| Hauz Khas Village & Deer Park | Architecture, public spaces, fashion boutiques, street culture, textures and visual communication. | Next to the NIFT New Delhi campus, and close to our Malviya Nagar centre |
| Lodhi Garden & Lodi-era Monuments | Architectural proportion, geometric forms, symmetry, ornamentation, natural textures and composition. | Sayyid and Lodi-period tombs set in a large public garden in central Delhi |
| Qutub Minar & Mehrauli Archaeological Park | Historic architecture, proportion, repetition, stone carving, arches and spatial relationships. | A UNESCO World Heritage Site, a short ride from Malviya Nagar |
| National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy | Indian craft traditions, textiles, materials, surface techniques, objects and patterns. | At Pragati Maidan; a focused place to study handloom and craft techniques in one visit |
| Chandni Chowk & Old Delhi Markets | Clothing, fabrics, trims, packaging, signage, typography, colour, crowd movement and consumer behaviour. | Wholesale textile and bridal-wear lanes, reached on the Yellow line from GTB Nagar and Karol Bagh |
| Connaught Place | Storefronts, branding, typography, Georgian colonnades, fashion retail and public movement. | Delhi’s central shopping circle above Rajiv Chowk, the city’s busiest metro interchange |
| India Gate & Kartavya Path | Monumental scale, symmetry, landscape, public-space use and visual composition. | The ceremonial axis of central Delhi, ideal for perspective and scale studies |
| Lajpat Nagar Central Market | Fashion retail, fabrics, accessories, merchandising, colour combinations and consumer behaviour. | One of Delhi’s busiest fashion markets, next to our South Extension centre |
| Delhi Metro Network | Wayfinding, signage, accessibility, passenger movement, service design and user journeys. | Almost every BRDS Delhi NCR centre is close to a metro station |
Note: The locations above are suggested observation environments for design practice, not official NIFT examination venues or NIFT-affiliated locations.
Turning Everyday Observation into NIFT Practice
An outing is useful only when students observe with a design question instead of just collecting photos. At Dilli Haat and the Crafts Museum, study weaves, prints and surface techniques. In Chandni Chowk and Lajpat Nagar, record fabric combinations, trims and how stalls attract buyers. At Qutub Minar and Lodhi Garden, sketch arches, proportion and carved ornament. In Connaught Place, compare how brands use windows and typography.
What attracts attention first in this space?
How does colour influence what people notice?
Which signs are easy or difficult to understand?
How are products arranged to influence customer attention?
What clothing details, silhouettes or material combinations stand out?
Which textures, shapes or patterns repeat around you?
Where do people stop, wait or change direction?
Can you sketch the same object from different viewpoints?
How could an everyday product or space be redesigned for a specific user?
Regular practice like this turns Delhi’s everyday environments into NIFT Entrance Exam practice, building the observation, ideation and visual communication tested in CAT and the Situation Test.
NIFT Preparation at BRDS Delhi

Creative & Visual Practice
- Observation drawing

- Colour understanding
- Visual storytelling
- Design problem-solving

These are the four areas NIFT identifies within the GAT, practised through topic-wise sets and full-length mock tests.
Situation Test Preparation
- Working with different materials
- Building a 3D concept against the clock
- Writing a clear explanation of the concept
In NIFTEE 2026, shortlisted B.Des. candidates were given specific materials to create a 3D model or design prototype and submitted a written explanation of their concept.
Essential Materials for NIFT Preparation
Good NIFT Study Material supports both aptitude preparation and creative practice. Alongside GAT practice sets, a focused kit of drawing tools, colour, paper and basic craft supplies covers CAT drawing and the hands-on model-making of the Situation Test.
| Material | Use in NIFT Preparation |
|---|---|
| Sketchbook | Daily observation drawing, ideation and visual notes |
| HB, 2B & 4B Pencils | Sketching, tonal studies and form development |
| Fine Liners | Outlines, detailing and visual communication |
| Eraser & Sharpener | Corrections and clean sketching |
| Colour Pencils | Colour studies and rendering |
| Markers | Quick visualisation and presentation practice |
| Watercolours | Colour application and composition exercises |
| A4/A3 Drawing Sheets | Timed drawing and CAT-style practice |
| Craft Paper | Paper construction and material exploration |
| Scissors | Cutting and craft exercises |
| Glue | Joining materials during model-making practice |
| Clay | Three-dimensional form exploration |
| Masking Tape | Temporary assembly and model construction |
| Scale | Measurement and proportion exercises |
| Tracing Paper | Exploring variations and refining ideas |
Materials are introduced as the exercises require, so students grow comfortable with both drawing and three-dimensional construction. For the actual NIFT Situation Test, candidates follow the material instructions issued for that examination.

Practice NIFTEE Questions
NIFTEE tests reasoning, language, general awareness and creative thinking, and the structure differs by programme. Try these practice sets for B.Des. and M.Des. to see how each part of the exam works.
B.Des. Practice Set
B.Des. candidates take GAT and CAT, and shortlisted candidates go on to the Situation Test.
Choose the word closest in meaning to “versatile.”
Versatile describes someone or something that can adapt to different uses, activities or situations — closest to adaptable.
A fabric store offers 20% off on a jacket marked at ₹2,500. What is the sale price?
20% of ₹2,500 is ₹500, so the sale price is ₹2,500 − ₹500 = ₹2,000.
A display uses this repeating sequence: Circle → Triangle → Square → Star → Circle → Triangle → ? Which symbol comes next?
The sequence repeats every four symbols. After Circle and Triangle, the third position is Square.
Which Indian city is widely known as a major centre for the country’s textile and diamond industries?
Surat is one of India’s largest centres for both textiles and diamond processing.
A school bag must be redesigned for a student who travels by public transport every day.Sketch your concept on paper. There is no single right answer.
Create a quick visual concept showing:
- The main form of the bag
- One feature that improves everyday usability
- How that feature works
- A simple indication of material or colour
User needs, concept development, functional thinking, visualisation and communication.
M.Des. Practice Set
M.Des. candidates also take GAT and CAT, but shortlisted candidates go on to a Personal Interview instead of the Situation Test.
Choose the sentence that uses the word “innovative” correctly.
“Innovative” is an adjective meaning new and original. Only option A uses it correctly, to describe a new method.
A designer uses a 1:4 scale to represent a product that is 80 cm long. What is the length of the scaled drawing?
At a 1:4 scale, the drawing is one-fourth of the original: 80 ÷ 4 = 20 cm.
A product development team follows this sequence: Research → Define → Ideate → Prototype → Test. Which stage comes immediately after Ideate?
Prototyping lets a selected idea be explored in a tangible form after the ideation stage.
Which organisation conducts the NIFT Entrance Examination (NIFTEE)?
NIFTEE is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of NIFT.
A public-space seating system must serve children, adults and older users while occupying a small area.Sketch your concept on paper. There is no single right answer.
Create a quick visual concept showing:
- The basic form
- How different users interact with it

| Quantitative Ability | Numerical reasoning and accuracy |
| Analytical & Logical Ability | Inference, patterns and structured reasoning |
| General Knowledge & Current Affairs | General awareness and current information |

Why Consider NIFT Delhi?
For students who hope to study at NIFT New Delhi, the campus offers one of NIFT’s broadest combinations of programmes: B.Des. in Accessory Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, Leather Design and Textile Design, B.F.Tech. Apparel Production, and the M.Des., M.F.M. and M.F.Tech. postgraduate programmes.
Established in 1986, NIFT New Delhi is the largest NIFT campus. It is located in Hauz Khas, near Gulmohar Park, New Delhi 110016, and its facilities include specialised design studios, pattern-making and garment-construction labs, textile and craft workshops, computer-aided design labs, a Resource Centre, exhibition spaces and seminar halls.
For an aspiring designer, Delhi offers a rare setting where fashion, crafts, heritage, retail, architecture and contemporary urban culture meet — and preparing here means getting to know that environment long before the first semester.
