About NIFT
NIFT is a premier institute of Design, Management and Technology in the field of Fashion in India. It was set up in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. NIFT was granted statutory status in 2006, empowering it to award degrees. NIFT has 18 Campuses with 5023 seats in all the courses.
Courses offered at NIFT
NIFT offers seven bachelor’s degree courses in design and technology, each of 4 years duration. It also offers three Master’s degree courses of two years duration.

To get admission at NIFT; students have to qualify the entrance exam conducted by NIFT.
NIFT Eligibility Criteria
Any candidate who fulfils the prescribed age and educational qualification criteria for the concerned programme can apply.
For Bachelor’s Programmes (B.Des & B.FTech)
Age Limit:
(As on 1st Aug of the admission year)
The maximum age should be less than 24 years as on 1st August of the year of admission. The upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for candidates of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Person with Disability (PWD) categories
Educational Qualification
B.Design : 10 + 2 pass/ appearing (any Stream) from any recognized board of education or
10 +3 or 10 +4 years Diploma approved by AICTE or a State Board or Technical Education.
B.FTech : 10 + 2 (with Physics, Chemistry & Maths) for a recognized board of education.
For Masters Programmes (M.Design, MFM and M.FTech)
Qualifying Age: No age limit
Educational Qualification:
M.Des (Master of Design) & Management : M.F.M (Master of Fashion Management)
Undergraduate Degree in any discipline from any Institute / University recognized by law in India
OR
Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID
M.FTech. (Master of Fashion Technology)
B.FTech. from NIFT
OR
B.E / B.Tech. from any Institute / University recognized by law in India.
