The inception of Indus Design School (IDS) came about to address the growing need for a well-structured and credible formal education in design. IDS is located in the Ahmedabad, one of the most culturally and historically vibrant cities of India. The city has been a gateway to grandeur, heritage & style for centuries. The programs are carefully designed to provide in-depth, progressive learning in design creation and business of design, aiming at a holistic knowledge development of the students. The robust curriculum is structured to effectively navigate learners through the core of the design process, which varies between design disciplines. In this process, concepts like design thinking and design exploration soon become second nature to the students. As design is a highly skills driven stream, IDS implements the‘learning-by-doing’approach, starting from the very foundation years. • Applicants with Higher Secondary (12th Grade) or equivalent qualification (10+2) from any stream (Science/Arts/Commerce/Humanities, etc) and from any board (HSC, CBSE, ICSC, IB, IGCSC) may apply.
• Applicants awaiting 12th grade results (2017-18) may also apply, however to secure an admission, clearing 12th grade is mandatory.

Indus Design School conducts its own entrance test – INDUS DESIGN TEST (IDT). Applicants must register for the test with a fee of Rs. 2000. IDT is 3 hr. duration entrance test divided in 3 stages and conducted on the same day at Indus University Campus as elaborated below. Every student applying at IDS is required to go through all the stages of the selection process. After completion of the selection process, the final merit list for all categories will be declared on the website.

Stage 1 : Design Test
The design test will consist of objective type questions, which will assess your logical skills and aptitude for design.

Stage 2 : Studio Test
The studio test will consist of creative writing test, drawing test, which will assess your creative skills and hand skills.

Stage 3 : Personal Interview
At the personal interview round, you will be tested for design knowledge, awareness and interpretations, along with review of your portfolio (Digital or Physical) which you are required to bring with you.
