NIFT Entrance Exam Application & Registration Form 2019

NIFT entrance exam 2019 application process has commenced and
will continue till December 28, 2018. However, candidates can
still register for the exam with late fee by January
3, 2019.

Candidates need to fill NIFT application form online on the
official website of the design entrance examination. But only
filling the NIFT application form does not solve the purpose,
candidates need to ensure that they complete and submit their
application form for NIFT admissions as per the date and time
mentioned by officials. NIFT admit card would be issued for only
those candidates who have duly filled and submitted their NIFT
application for admission.

Before filling the application form for NIFT admissions,
candidates need to have the below mentioned documents in place:

How to fill NIFT Application Form

Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to fill the
application form for NIFT Entrance Exam 2019:

Step 1: Create Login ID

In order to successfully register for NIFT entrance exam,
aspirants need to visit the official website of the design school
and create a login ID. Details that candidates need to provide to
create their NIFT login ID are as mentioned below:

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Category
  • Email ID
  • Programme applied for admission

Once all these details are submitted a window opens on the
screen which states that an acknowledgement has been sent at the
email address mentioned in the application form for NIFT admission
by the aspirant. Further, candidates need to login on the official
website using the email ID and date of birth mentioned by them
while creating the login ID.Once these details are provided, NIFT
login ID is created. Also, candidates need to note that details
provided by them in their login ID cannot be modified at a later
stage. Thus, they need to fill this information very carefully.

Step 2: Fill NIFT Entrance Exam 2019 Application

Step 3: Upload Photograph & Signature

Further, candidates need to upload their photograph as well as
signature with their NIFT entrance exam application form. Both
these files need to be uploaded in jpg/jpeg format and should be
less than 50 KB in size.

Step 4: Pay NIFT Admissions Application Fee

Next, aspirants need to pay the application fee
for NIFT entrance exam which they can pay online
(by means of Credit Card/Debit Card/Netbanking) or by Demand Draft
(DD).

Aspirants who opt to pay NIFT application fee through DD need to
make sure that the NIFT Demand Draft is drawn in favour of “NIFT
HO” and is payable at New Delhi. The DD for NIFT application form
need to include details such as the candidate’s name, date, fee
amount and signature of the issuing authority. Further, candidates
applying through DD need to send the printout of their duly filled
NIFT application form along with the Demand Draft at the below

Step 5: Take print of NIFT application form

Once all the above mentioned steps are complete, aspirants need
to submit their NIFT entrance exam application form. Thereafter,
candidates need to take a clear print of the NIFT application form
along with proof of payment and keep it securely with
themselves.

NIFT Entrance Exam Pattern 2019

NIFT Entrance Exam Pattern: In order to secure admission at NIFT, candidates will have to appear for two different pen-and-paper-based objective type tests which are called General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT).

The official website states: “On the basis of result of written test GAT and CAT, BDes candidates will be called for second test called Situation Test. For BFTech, GAT will be the final test for selection. The candidates for MDes will take GAT and CAT. On the basis of result of GAT and CAT, in case of MDes, and GAT in case of MFTech and MFM, candidates will be called for Group Discussion/Personal Interview”. NIFT Entrance Exam Pattern: Creative Ability Test (CAT)

“This test is administered to judge the intuition skill, power of observation, innovation in development of a concept and design ability of the candidate. An important aspect of the test is the creative and innovative use of colour and illustration skills”, states the official NIFT website.

NIFT Entrance Exam Pattern: General Ability Test (GAT)

Candidates seeking admissions in BDes and MDes programmes at NIFT need to appear for GAT. This test comprises of the below mentioned sections:

  • Analytical Ability
  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs

The duration of GAT is 120 minutes and the language of this written test is English. While formulating the merit list for BDes and MDes course admissions 30% weighatge is allotted to GAT section of NIFT entrance exam.

NIFT GAT Test Structure for BFTech, MFM and MFTech

Candidates seeking admissions in BFTech, MFM and MFTech courses at NIFT need to appear for a three hour GAT. The structure of this test is as follows:

NIFT Situation Test

Candidates who have been shortlisted for NIFT BDes admissions on the basis of their written test need to appear for NIFT Situation Test 2019 wherein their “material handling and innovative ability” will be tested.

Here, candidates will be evaluated on “on Space Visualization, Innovative and creative use of given material, composition of elements, colour scheme, construction skill , finesse of the model and overall presentation etc. These parameters will be checked with the write up explaining the concept / idea behind the model constructed. The weightage of the write up is 30%. Since the medium of teaching in NIFT is English, the write-up will be in English language. No marks will be given for write-up in any other language”, specifies the official website.

NIFT Group Discussion

Candidates who have been shortlisted for Masters Programmes on the basis of their written entrance examination need to undergo Case Study based Group Discussions (GD) and NIFT Personal Interview round. In the NIFT admissions 2019 Group Discussion round candidates will be further shortlisted on the below mentioned basis:

NIFT Entrance Exam Result 2019

National Institute of Fashion Technology is scheduled to declare the results for NIFT Entrance Exam for all its courses in February/March, 2019. Candidates are informed that the result for NIFT written entrance exam is just the first step towards shortlisting candidates for admission in BDes and MDes programmes offered at NIFT campuses.

How to Check NIFT Entrance Exam 2019 Result

Aspirants who make it to NIFT written entrance exam merit list are eligible to take part in Situation Test and Group Discussion/Interview round for NIFT admissions 2019. Candidates who pass all the three NIFT admission rounds are the only ones who are

The final merit list for NIFT admissions 2019 is declared on the official NIFT website by the end of May/June each year. This year the final result for NIFT admissions was announced on May 15.

NIFT Entrance Exam 2019 Tie-Break

Candidates are informed that when NIFT entrance exam results are announced if two or more candidates score the same marks then in order to determine the rank of aspirants, tie-break is done. The means through which this tie-break is done is the age of
candidates. Thus, the student who is older (basis the date of birth mentioned in their NIFT application form) is given a higher rank in NIFT entrance exam 2019.

NIFT Scorecard

Once candidates view their NIFT entrance exam result, they need to download their NIFT scorecard. Thereafter, candidates need to take a clear print of their NIFT entrance exam 2019 scorecard. It
is mandatory for candidates to take a print of their scorecard for NIFT admissions as at the time of counselling all shortlisted candidates need to carry their NIFT scorecard in order to secure
admission in the course and college of their choice.

NIFT Entrance Exam Admit Card 2019

NIFT Entrance Exam 2019 admit card is scheduled to be released by National Institute of Fashion Technology on January 10. NIFT admit card will be available online only and candidates can only download it from the official website. Aspirants are informed that NIFT admit card would not be sent to them by any other means such as by post or by hand under any circumstance.

NIFT Entrance Exam Counselling 2019

NIFT entrance exam is usually conducted in the month of February each year. Aspirants who are shortlisted for admission in BDes and MDes programmes basis their performance in NIFT entrance test further need to appear for NIFT Situation Test/Group Discussion/Interview round. Once NIFT results for all these admission rounds are declared, the shortlisted candidates need to take part in NIFT counselling round in order to block their seats for admission in colleges accepting NIFT scores for admission.

NIFT counselling for candidates who successfully clear all rounds of the entrance exam will be conducted in May/ June, 2019.

Candidates need to take part in NIFT counselling round on the basis of NIFT entrance exam rank they have secured and also on the basis of the category under which they have applied for admission. National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) conducts multiple counselling rounds at the 16 NIFT campuses. The official NIFT website informs: “The NIFT Head Office will coordinate with all Campuses and the Admission process will take place simultaneously at all Campuses of NIFT”.

In order to take part in NIFT counselling process 2019, candidates need to register on the official website of National Institute of Fashion Technology by providing their – NIFT application form number, date of birth and password.

Step 2: Receive NIFT system generated letter

As soon as candidates successfully register on NIFT’s official website they are sent a system generated letter containing details of the Nodal Officer along with a list of important documents required for NIFT counselling and admission. Aspirants need to carry the below mentioned documents for NIFT counselling 2019 in original along with photocopies:

3 Certificate of having passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination.
4 Certificate of having passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination, showing the subjects offered by him/her in the examination. Physics, Chemistry and Math for BFTech.
5 Certificate from the Board from which he/she passed the High School/Higher Secondary Examination.
6 Certificate from the prescribed authority showing that he/she belongs to a Schedules Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/OBC (Non-Creamy) category. (Applicable only to candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ OBC (Non-Creamy) category).
7 Semester Fee – Demand Draft of Rs 110450 (Non-NRI) drawn in favour of the “NIFT HO” payable at the city of Counselling.
8 Copy of 12th class School Leaving Certificate (for domicile seats only).
9 Valid PWD Certificate.
10 Copy of 1st, 2nd & 3rd year graduation mark sheet/ self-attested copy of final year appearing certificate (For Master Programmes).
11 Undertaking for the candidate seeking provisional admission (Available in Annexure-I mentioned on NIFT website).
12 Undertaking from the students, as per provisions of anti-ragging (Available in Annexure-II mentioned on NIFT website).
13 Undertaking about Eligibility, Fee and Refund (Available in Annexure-IV mentioned on NIFT website).
14 Medical Fitness Certificate in prescribed format (Available in Annexure-VI mentioned on NIFT website).
15 Form for withdrawal of Admission (Available in Annexure-III mentioned on NIFT website).
16 Authorisation letter from the candidate who are not in position to attend in person format (Available in Annexure-VII mentioned on NIFT website). This is not applicable to PwD candidates.

Aspirants are informed that if any of the above mentioned documents required for NIFT counselling are in any other language apart from Hindi/English, then aspirants need to ensure that the same document is translated in English/ Hindi and the translation is duly verified by the “issuing institution/gazetted officer/Self attested (original and photocopy) by the candidate at the time of Counselling / Admission”, as per the official NIFT website. If a candidate fails to produce the document with requisite authentic translation then his/her candidature may be cancelled.

Step 4: Take part in NIFT Counselling round & get documents verified

On the day of the counselling, aspirants need to report at their allotted NIFT counselling centre at 9:30 am sharp. Candidates need to carry documents along with photocopies to their NIFT counselling centre. “The original certificates, except the medical certificate, will be returned to the candidate after verification”, informs the official NIFT website.

Step 5: Take part in NIFT Seat Allocation Process

After the document verification process is over, candidates need to take part in NIFT seat allocation process. Here, candidates need to select the college/seat by clicking on its name on a monitor in the presence of the Nodal Officer for NIFT admissions 2019.

Step 6: Pay the Admission Fee

Next, if a candidate is offered a seat for NIFT admission at any of the National Institutes of Fashion Technology campuses then they need to pay the notified fee immediately. The official website informs: “If a candidate fails to pay the fee, after the seat has been offered, the offer will be withdrawn and the seat will be allotted to the next candidate on the merit list. Part payment or payment through cash/cheque will not be accepted under any circumstances”.

Step 7: Receive Allotment Letter

Once all the above mentioned steps are completed, the candidate is issued an allotment letter or admission receipt that is duly signed by the Nodal Officer of the NIFT Campus. Once this receipt is received the candidate cannot make any alterations in the course/campus selected by him/her for admission.

Fashion Designing Entrance Exam Sample Paper

Fashion Designing Entrance Exam is a nation-wide competitive Entrance test for the candidates aspiring for the admission in the field of Fashion Designing. Fashion Designing Entrance Exam is considered one of the most challenging entrance tests in India. Every Year the institutes like NID and NIFT organises its Entrance Exam to determine the eligibility of the aspirants for the admission in the institute. This article will be covering the questions regarding the importance of Fashion Designing Entrance Exam Sample Paper.

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) offers a four Years undergraduate programme as well as two years postgraduate programme in Design, Management and Technology. Admission in NIFT campuses for undergraduate, Doctoral and postgraduate programmes are offered depending on the performance of the candidates in the Entrance test. For admission in Bachelor of Design (B.Des) as well as Master of Design (M.Des) programmes offered by National Institute of Fashion Technology, students need to give two written admission tests: the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and the General Ability Test (GAT). Depending on the performance of the candidates in these two written test the merit list will be prepared. The candidates in the merit list will be offered admission in the Institute for the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Master of Design (M.Des) programmes in NIFT.

The aspirants must qualify in the national level entrance examination for technology and management programmes such as Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech), Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M) and Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech). Candidates in the merit list have to appear for the interview round after which the final merit list will be available for candidates on the official website of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).

Candidates can start their preparations by reading the relevant reference books or the question papers from the previous years. Question papers from the previous year give a brief idea regarding the types of question and pattern of NIFT Entrance Exam; hence it is recommended to solve as much question paper as possible.
