Student can attend 3 day’s workshop on Live Online platform with BRDS Expert faculties. This workshop will help students to face their Personal Interview (PI) with confidence.

About NIFT Situation Test and NIFT Personal Interview (PI)
1. When is the NIFT Situation Test held?
The NIFT Situation Test is expected to held in 3rd week of May, after candidates have cleared the written test.
2. What is the weightage of the NIFT Situation Test?
The NIFT Situation Test holds 20% weightage in the final admission process and plays a significant role in deciding your admission to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program.
3. What is the NIFT Situation Test?
The NIFT Situation Test is the final round for candidates applying for the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program. It is conducted for candidates who have cleared the written test. NIFT invites three times the number of available seats to appear for the Situation Test, making it a qualifying round. During this test, candidates are required to create a three-dimensional model based on a specific theme or topic, using a set of materials like ice cream sticks, mount board, colour papers, straws, thread, etc.
Candidates are given two hours to complete the model, and their work will be evaluated on various parameters, including space visualization, creative use of materials, composition, colour scheme, and construction skill. Additionally, candidates will be asked to write about the concept behind the model they have created.
4. What do the examiners assess during the NIFT Situation Test?
The NIFT Situation Test examiners assess the following:
- Quality of Material Manipulation: How effectively and creatively the materials are used.
- Innovative Ideas: The originality and uniqueness of the design created.
- Aesthetic Appeal: The visual appeal and balance of the model.
- Neatness: The overall neatness and precision in constructing the model.
- Conceptualization Skills: How well the student has understood and implemented the theme or concept.
- Working Methodology: The approach used by the candidate in completing the task within the given time frame.
5. Do B.Des students have to appear for the Personal Interview (PI)?
No, B.Des students do not have to appear for the Personal Interview (PI). The PI is only conducted for Master’s program candidates (M.Des, MFM, and M.FTech) as part of the final selection process.
6. When is the NIFT Personal Interview (PI) held?
The NIFT Personal Interview (PI) is typically held in the month of May at the NIFT Delhi campus for candidates applying to the Master’s programs (M.Des, MFM, and M.FTech).
7. What is the weightage of the PI exam for M.Des / MFM / M.FTech students?
For candidates applying to the Master of Design (M.Des), Master of Fashion Management (MFM), and Master of Fashion Technology (M.FTech) programs, the Personal Interview (PI) carries a weightage of 30% in the final selection process. This weightage, combined with the written exam results, helps determine the final admission.
