CEED Coaching in Ahmedabad 2027-2028

The Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) is conducted by IIT Bombay to evaluate a candidate’s aptitude for design — covering visual perception, drawing ability, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, and problem-solving. It is the gateway to Master of Design (M.Des) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, IIITDM Jabalpur, and IIITDM Kancheepuram, as well as PhD programmes at several participating institutes.A CEED score alone does not guarantee admission. Each admitting institute independently shortlists candidates and may conduct additional tests or interviews before making a final offer. Eligibility, category certificates, and other documents are verified at the time of admission. The CEED 2027 score will be valid for one year from the date of result declaration.

CEED 2027 Exam Dates

CEED Registration Form 2027

Step 1:
Visit the official CEED website and create an account.

Step 2:
Fill in the registration form with the required personal and academic details.

Step 3:
Upload the necessary documents in the prescribed format:

• Recent colour photograph (within the last 6 months) in .jpg format
• Scanned signature in .jpg format
• Degree/Diploma Certificate in .pdf format
  • If the course is not yet completed, upload the final year mark sheet, provisional certificate, or a certificate from the Principal/Head of Department
• Valid EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL category certificate in .pdf format (EWS/OBC-NCL certificates must be issued on or after April 1, 2026)
• PwD certificate (UDID card or medical certificate stating at least 40% disability); Dyslexic candidates must submit an additional certificate if applicable
• Certificate and request letter for scribe/compensatory time, if applicable
• Name change proof, if applicable

Step 4:
Submit the registration form ONLINE ONLY through the CEED website. Ensure all documents are uploaded electronically before submitting.

Step 5:
Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Registration Fee:

• ₹2,000 for Women candidates
• ₹2,000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates
• ₹4,000 for all other candidates

CEED Paper Pattern 2027

The CEED exam is conducted in English and consists of two parts — Part A and Part B — held on the same day. Both parts are compulsory. Part A runs from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed immediately by Part B from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.

CEED Part A

Part A is a computer-based objective test covering visual and spatial ability, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning, language, and observation and design sensitivity.

Part A is of 1 hour duration and carries a total of 150 marks. The paper has 44 questions divided into three sections:

• NAT (Numerical Answer Type):
  8 questions of 4 marks each, with no negative marking. Answers are entered as numbers using a virtual keyboard — no options are shown.
• MSQ (Multiple Select Questions):
  10 questions of 4 marks each. One or more options may be correct. A partial marking scheme applies, and a negative marking of –1 applies in all other incorrect cases.
• MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions):
  26 questions of 3 marks each, with four options and only one correct answer. A negative marking of –0.5 marks applies for each incorrect answer. Unattempted questions carry no penalty.

CEED Part B

Part B tests design thinking, drawing ability, and written communication. Questions are displayed on a computer screen, but answers must be written and drawn in an answer booklet provided by the invigilator.

There are 5 compulsory questions in Part B. It carries 100 marks over 2 hours. Partial marking is applicable and there is no negative marking.

Note: Part A and Part B must each be completed within their respective time limits.

CEED Syllabus 2027

CEED 2027 consists of two parts — Part A and Part B.

Part A covers the following topics:

• Visualization and spatial reasoning: Ability to visualise and transform 2D shapes and 3D objects and understand their spatial relationships.
• Practical and scientific knowledge: Understanding of scientific principles and how everyday objects work.
• Observation and design sensitivity: Ability to notice and think critically about properties in everyday objects, situations, and environments — including attention to detail, classification, analysis, inference, and prediction.
• Environment and society: General awareness of environmental, social, and cultural connections with design.
• Analytical and logical reasoning: Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative information logically.
• Language: Proficiency in reading and comprehending Standard English.
• Creativity: Ability to grasp verbal and non-verbal analogies, metaphors, signs, and symbols.
• Art and design knowledge: Awareness of art, artefacts, products, artists, designers, art and design history, and current trends.
• Design methods and practices: Knowledge of materials, production processes, media, and ergonomics.

Part B covers the following topics:

• Drawing: Ability to draw products, people, or scenes in proportion — with attention to line quality, composition, perspective, and shading.
• Creativity: Ability to think beyond the obvious and generate diverse, original solutions.
• Communication skills: Ability to convey concepts and ideas clearly through a combination of text and visuals.
• Problem identification skills: Ability to understand user needs and context; knowledge of material properties and their appropriate application in design.

Note: The topics listed above are indicative of the nature of questions. The CEED may not cover every listed topic in a given year.

CEED Result 2027

The CEED 2027 result is expected to be declared in early March 2027 on the official CEED website. Candidates can log in using their registration number and application number (or email ID and password) to view and download their scorecard.

All candidates who meet the Part A cut-off will receive an All India Rank and be considered qualified. The CEED 2027 score will remain valid for one year from the date of declaration.

Important: A CEED rank is a qualifying score, not a guarantee of admission. Each institute that accepts CEED scores — IISc, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, and others — runs its own admissions process. Shortlisted candidates must separately apply to each institute, meet their eligibility criteria, and appear for any additional written test or interview the institute requires. Admission offers are made entirely at the discretion of the individual institutes.
