Clearing CEED is only the first step. Here is what happens next:

• Download your scorecard from the official CEED portal. It is valid for one year.
• Apply to each institute separately. There is no centralised counselling for CEED — visit each IIT’s admission portal and apply with your CEED score and rank.
• Prepare a strong portfolio. Most IITs shortlist candidates for interviews based on CEED rank and then evaluate portfolios in person.
• Attend studio tests and interviews. IIT Bombay IDC, IIT Delhi, and IISc all conduct additional rounds after CEED.
• Apply to result-sharing institutes like GLS University, Jain University, and Mahindra University, which also accept CEED scores for M.Des admission.

CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to Master of Design (M.Des) and PhD programmes at IITs, IISc Bangalore, and select participating institutes across India.

2. Who conducts CEED 2027?

CEED 2027 is conducted by the Industrial Design Centre (IDC), IIT Bombay, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

3. What is the eligibility for CEED 2027?

Candidates must have completed a degree, diploma, or postgraduate degree of minimum three years after 10+2, or must be in the final year of such a programme completing by July 2027. GD Arts diploma (10+5 level) holders are also eligible. There is no age limit and no limit on the number of attempts.

4. Do I need a design background to apply for CEED?

The expected application fee for CEED 2027 is ₹4,000 for General and OBC candidates, and ₹2,000 for Women, SC, ST, and PwD candidates. An additional late fee of ₹500 applies to registrations submitted after the regular closing date.

Part B is an offline, pen-and-paper test lasting two hours. It has 8 questions displayed on a computer screen, of which candidates attempt the first 5 compulsory ones. Questions test drawing ability, creativity, communication skills, design problem-solving, and form sensitivity. Strong sketching and original thinking are essential.
